The Business Ombudsman Council was approached by a Spetstechservice LLC truck manufacturer, which could not start operating the car for international transportation.
On the eve of the war, the company appealed to the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety twice with a request to add a new make of a car to the transporter’s e-office. However, the State Service for Transport Safety refused to, referring to mismatch of the car make with that specified in the registration documents. In fact, the company’s vehicle had only a chassis of another brand, based on which it built a full-fledged truck that did not contradict the law.
The BOC sent a letter to the State Service for Transport Safety in which it upheld the complainant. The Council stressed that there were no errors in the vehicle’s registration documents, and the current situation made it impossible to use the truck for international transportations, including humanitarian aid during the war.
With the BOC facilitation, the State Service for Transport Safety added a new car make to the transportation company’s e-office. Following the helpline work results, the company provided its feedback: “The BOC investigator promptly responded to our request, quickly understood the situation and helped solve the problem.
I want to emphasize that without the BOC involvement, we would not have been able to resolve this issue on our own. Thank you very much for your work. A peaceful sky to you!”
