The Business Ombudsman Council is looking for candidates for the position of Junior Investigator (Lawyer)
Who we are:
The Business Ombudsman Council (BOC) is a non-governmental organization and a permanent independent advisory body to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, established with the participation of the EBRD, OECD, leading Ukrainian business associations, and the Government of Ukraine.
The BOC considers B2G complaints regarding abuses by state authorities and proposes systemic solutions to eliminate these problems and improve the business climate.

Key requirements:
- Law degree from a reputable university ·
- High ethical standards
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in tax, customs and/or criminal procedural law
- Ability to work with the register of court decisions, searching and analyzing case-law
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal, commercial and financial information
- Experience in pre-trial appeal of state authorities’ decisions
- Fluent Ukrainian (oral and written)
- Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents (legal opinions, procedural documents, protocols, etc.)
- Good self-organization and communication skills
- Work experience in international legal and consulting firms, knowledge of the English language will be an advantage
Key job responsibilities:
- Analyze laws, by-laws, case-law, etc.
- Analyze documentation provided by complainants
- Draft letters, legal opinions, and other documents
- Liaise with complainants, state bodies and local self-governments within complaint-related matters
- Participate in the administrative appeal procedure and expert groups with state bodies
- Assist in preparing investigation reports and writing systemic reports
