Business Ombudsman Council meets NABU Director Artem Sytnyk

Today the Business Ombudsman Council met with the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk.
The meeting took place under the Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation between the BOC and the NABU dated 28.01.2016.
The Business Ombudsman highlighted that compared to other law enforcement agencies, business almost does not complain about the NABU’s actions, but rather turns to the bureau for help if faced possible corruption episodes.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current challenges and prospects of investigating corruption-related crimes, as well as the role of anti-corruption institutions in combating corruption in Ukraine. The parties emphasized on the need to improve legislation in this area.
The Council expects that the NABU will continue its effective work in anti-corruption investigations. The participants expressed their readiness for further cooperation and efficient interaction.
