Business Ombudsman Council and National Agency on Corruption Prevention Signed Memorandum of Cooperation

Business Ombudsman Council and National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), signed Memorandum on Partnership and Cooperation. 
The Memorandum is the basis for cooperation between institutions to identify and eliminate corruption risks. Upon the BOC’s recommendation, NACP could perform inspections of local councils, state companies and their management. NACP could provide legal protection to the BOC’s complainants in case of pressure by state officials. 
Algirdas Semeta thanked NACP’s Chief Natalya Korchak for her efforts in drafting the Memorandum. “Business Ombudsman Council and National Agency on Corruption Prevention are united by one common goal – to create environment where business could operate easily. The Memo that we signed acknowledges our intention to work on preventing and eliminating corruption issues”, emphasized Business Ombudsman Algirdas Semeta.
“The Memo should ensure transparency of government agencies, facilitate in reducing corruption and fighting malpractice of state officials”, said NACP’s Chief Natalya Korchak, and confirmed that NACP would facilitate cooperation between business and government in every way.
The Memorandum calls for an expert group to be established to periodically review complaints from business about the actions or inactivity of the government. The group will include representatives of the NACP and, on the BOC side, the Deputy Business Ombudsman and investigator.  
Previously, the Business Ombudsman Council signed MoCs with the State Fiscal Service, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the State Regulatory Service, the Ministry of Justice, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Kyiv Municipal State Administration and National Police.
