Business Ombudsman Made a Working Visit to Odesa region

Mr. Šemeta discussed the most pressing issues in the region, which require Business Ombudsman’s attention with the leaders of Odesa Regional State Administration. Mr. Šemeta also met with the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and discussed obstacles that entrepreneurs face.
Algirdas Šemeta visited enterprise LLC “TALAMUS Ltd” (leading manufacturer of high quality packaging tin products) and also met with the Director of “Delta Wilmar CIS” – company with foreign investments (producer of edible oils and fats).
Mr. Šemeta urged entrepreneurs of Odesa to contact Business Ombudsman Council if their legal rights are violated: “It is important for us to hear the businesses in all cities of Ukraine. At the moment Office received 344 complaints, 125 of which became full-fledged investigations, 49 are in the process of consideration, 125 have been dismissed, 38 cases have already been closed. We have 9 complaints from Odesa now, 1 of which have already been solved”, noted Algirdas Šemeta. He added that his Office would develop systemic recommendations for complaints on legislative changes, which could make life of the business easier.
We would like to remind, that visit to Odesa is part of the Business Ombudsman’s regional working visit series, designed for Mr. Šemeta to meet with business and government representatives and discuss current problems and opportunities to expand the investment potential of the regions. Mr. Šemeta already visited Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
