Tetyana Korotka was appointed a Deputy Business Ombudsman in Ukraine in May 2015.
Being a member of the Business Ombudsman Council, she, as the Deputy Business Ombudsman, is responsible for conducting investigations and developing systemic recommendations to Ukrainian public authorities and state-owned enterprises. Tetyana also contributes to improving business environment areas where local and international companies are facing problematic issues.
Combining expertise in public and private finance, sustainable infrastructure development, and project management of high-scale development projects, Tetyana Korotka possesses over 20 years of financial and managerial experience in strategic planning and regulatory reform in various sectors.
Prior to joining the Business Ombudsman Council, Ms. Korotka served as a Director of Professional Services Group of the Program financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) where she provided leadership to the local and international experts which sought to build an environment for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) that would attract private sector finance, management expertise, and introduce technologies needed to develop sustainable infrastructure and to improve public services. A number of projects in various areas (transport, communal infrastructure, recreation, health care, energy efficiency etc.) were implemented under her supervision.
In 2008-2011, Ms. Korotka occupied senior managerial positions in international financial groups. Tetyana acted as a consultant in international projects implemented by the European Union, the US, Canada, Sweden as well as the World Bank. Tetyana Korotka started her career as a civil servant being a CFO of the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee of Ukraine (1999-2004), Director of the Department of Financial Services Markets Development and European Integration of the State Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets of Ukraine (2004-2008).
She had been a constant member of the high-level official Ukraine-WTO, Ukraine-the World Bank and IMF, Ukraine-EU negotiation group for a long time.
Ms. Korotka’s academic background includes postgraduate education at the London School of Economics and Political Science, MBA from the Institute of International Business Relations at Steinbeis University in Berlin, and Ph.D. in Economics. Tetyana Korotka holds a degree in Finance from the Kyiv National Economic University.
